About The Artist







The artwork of Mona Shafer Edwards stretches from fashion illustration, to courtroom drama, and to the silver screen of Hollywood.

A Los Angeles native, Ms. Edwards earned a Bachelor’s degree with honors from prestigious Art Center College of Design.

Mona is author/illustrator of "Captured! Inside the World of Celebrity Trials”, and has illustrated many books for the Fashion Industry; for HarperCollins, Addison Wesley Longman, and Hachette Publishing, New York.

Edwards has taught fashion sketching and advertising illustration classes at UCLA, FIDM and TradeTech, Los Angeles, as well as being a guest lecturer at High Schools and Colleges.

Mona has put pen to paper to bring life to countless world-famous and cornerstone trials. Both OJ Simpson cases were covered and Mona worked as well on the Michael Jackson molestation trial, Anna Nicole Smith, Rodney King, and Lindsay Lohan cases, for National and International News outlets, and entertainment magazine shows, to name only a few.

Her work has been featured on ABC,CNN,20/20,Extra, Entertainment Tonight, E!,as well as Time , Newsweek, US, and Entertainment Weekly Magazine.

Ms. Edwards has created storyboards and sketch art for several films and television productions; including Moulin Rouge, The Ghost of Mississippi, Medium, Shark, Big Love, as well as a recurring role on the soap opera, The Bold and the Beautiful.

She illustrated a music video, NEDA, for Amnesty International, for the band, " The Airborne Toxic Event”

Mona is represented by WinnDevon art publishing, with several collections of Fashion and Fine Art posters for the Canadian company.

Since 2001, Mona has been the Courtroom Art judge in the California Mock Trials competition, lending her expertise to the Constitutional Rights Foundations annual High School tournaments, and has contributed her talents to the Cedars Sinai Hospital, The Grossman Burn Center, and created the bronze logo award for the Genesis Awards, Humane Society.
